We're turning our commitment into action in partnership with veritree (learn more). Each product sold is a step towards greening our planet, as it contributes to planting a new tree. This effort is particularly close to our hearts, with our inaugural tree-planting project in Africa. This region holds special significance for Charlene, who spent a meaningful year volunteering there.

But this initiative is more than just planting trees. It enhances biodiversity, supports local communities, and fosters sustainable agroforestry practices. These efforts are integral to our belief in a holistic approach to business that cares for the environment as much as it does for the people.

ROOTS TO TABLE is a labor of love rooted in our desire to create something authentic and harmonious with nature. Our journey started at the very foundation – the wood itself. Committed to local sourcing, we ensured a direct connection with the material destined to become the heart of our products.

Transforming logs into planks was an adventure marked by challenges and triumphs. The arrival of a sawmill, a complex puzzle of thousands of pieces, was daunting. However, I turned it into a fully operational cornerstone of our production with determination and a touch of humor.

Following this, we built a custom kiln to dry the planks properly, guaranteeing the exceptional quality of our wood.

In our workshop, every step – cutting, planing, joining, routing, sanding, gluing, and branding – is done with meticulous care. From the very 'roots' of our materials, this hands-on approach is the soul of ROOTS TO TABLE. We're not just building a company but nurturing a part of ourselves.
