As our Summer Sawmill Assistant, you’ll get to experience a variety of tasks that will keep you engaged and excited every day. Here’s a sneak peek at what your summer with us will look like:
Sawmill Assistance: Get hands-on experience running sawmill operations, loading logs with a forklift or tractor, and manually moving heavy logs.
Waste Wood Management: Help us keep things tidy by stacking, cutting, and transporting waste wood, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area.
Kiln Operations: Assist in loading and unloading the kiln for wood drying processes. It’s a crucial part of what we do!
Manufacturing Support: Dive into various manufacturing tasks, including wood planing, ripsawing, sanding, gluing, and operating dust collectors. If you’re handy with power tools, that’s a big plus!
Machine Handling: Comfortable being around and learning machinery.
G Driving License: Required.
Transportation: Must have your own transportation to and from our worksite at 1692 People’s Rd., Sault Ste Marie.
